Malware Protection from Perimeter 81 is focused on intercepting malware before it can infect an endpoint device such as a Windows laptop or MacBook. The large majority of malware that an organization will face comes from the web, and it’s everywhere. Depending on what you’re searching for, even a simple, text-based ad can lead you to a rogue site offering a seemingly legitimate download that is actually carrying malware.
Our Malware Protection fights against these threats by analyzing your company’s HTTP and HTTPS traffic for potential threats from HTML files, cascading style sheets (CSS), JavaScript, third-party ads, files downloaded from webmail, and more. All of it gets analyzed by our solution to make sure malicious actors aren’t infiltrating your company.
Malware Protection from Perimeter 81 starts with the basics, as any good anti-malware solution should, by maintaining a signature database to quickly eliminate known malware. That’s not even close to enough, however, which is why we include polymorphic analysis to discover known malware that changes its signature by altering itself.
In addition, we use emulation to do virtual code processing to detect potential threats, heuristics to discover patterns of behavior that are out of the norm, and machine learning to deal with higher level threats such as APTs (advanced persistent threats), zero-day attacks, ransomware, and more.
Malware Protection also offers detailed reports so that IT managers can form a solid response plan to potential attacks. Our reports include the name of the affected user, the date, time, the affected file, and the type of malware detected.
To make it easier on IT Teams, Malware Protection does its work seamlessly in the background. There are no settings or exception lists to configure it’s just on automatically – working to protect your network, users, and resources.
Perimeter 81’s Malware Protection is designed to work even when your users aren’t connected to the network or accessing corporate resources. All that’s required is that the Perimeter 81 agent is running.
Malware Protection is just one part of a holistic approach to network security that’s part of a converged, cloud-based solution. Malware Protection can stop malware from entering a device, but it won’t stop users from entering their login credentials into a phishing site. That’s where Web Filtering comes in and automatically blocks attempts to access known malicious websites. You can use our pre-configured lists based on categories such as gambling, social media, and so on to reduce exposure to potentially malicious content.
